Light Artist, Leo Villareal

Light is electromagnetic radiation that we can see.  It makes objects around us visible.

Leo Villareal currently lives and works in New York but was born in Albuquerque, NM.
His chosen art form is through the use of LED lights and computer software.  He programs the work himself to make they lights do certain patterns and movements.  He took up this practice after being inspired by the theories of Isaac Newton and John Conway.

My favorite piece that he has done is pictured.  The colors and patterns grab my attention.  I find this to be the most intriguing because when I look at his work side by side, this is the one that captivates me.

The artist that is most like Leo Villareal's work is Marcus Tremento.  I find these similarities because they are both a bit abstract, however still beautiful.  They both make use of color, however not all of Villareal's work is done in color.
