I drew this leaf sitting in my backyard back home. It took me about twenty five minutes but that's mostly because I had my turtles outside with me and they kept wandering so I would be forced to stop what I was doing and retrieve them. I think just drawing only took me about fifteen minutes. I find this leaf to be the most successful because it has the most shading to it and stands out from the page better then my prior leaves. Every leaf I drew, I picked a certain aspect to focus on and in this particular leaf I was focused on the shadows.

A Place For A Leaf
Final Project
At first, this project totally shocked me right out of my comfort zone. A place for a leaf is in a tree or on the ground, not in a piece of paper. Or so I thought. This project took me all over the place because I had no idea what was expected of me. I ended up soaking printer paper in coffee and vanilla for the color. I did this because my leaf had died and I was putting it to rest. My prior model looks more like a coffin, but it wasn't an appropriate coffin for a leaf. With that in mind, I kept to the same idea but changed the shape and arrived at my final project.
